Hello
I think of many many things when thinking about England.
I only have very good memories of England. I fell in love with the English language very early, I was about 10 or 11 years old, and I used to listen English or American music, and as I wanted to sing along with my tapes (yes, no CD at that time

), I searched for the lyrics in magazines for the young (there was'nt the Internet, poor us!). I was fan of The Beatles (I still am), Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Wham, Madonna and many others..I was very proud of myself when I could sing in English because I didn't want to sing marschmallow

. That also helped me when I entered the secondary school and I had no difficulties in learning English.
I kept on with English, because I studied it at the university. I wanted to be an English teacher at that time, I finally work in Telecommunications today and did'nt become a teacher
I also have very good memories of my life over there. In 1994 I lived 8 months (a school year in fact) in Tonbridge (Kent). I was there as a French language assistant in a high school That was a great year, filled with joyful moments, beautiful images of the English country, tea, pubs, karaoke, fish and chips

, parks, christmas time and christmas carols (I love that!), London etc.... a wonderful year that I will never forget. I felt so good over there, I always had the feeling that I was at home.
My last surprise with England and English was a few years ago, when I discovered, while working on my genealogy researches, that I had English ancestors..! in fact I have several (in Sussex and Essex). I thought that maybe this explained why I always loved the English language and England so much. you never know..
Waow I talked too much, but for me this is a fascinating subject.
See you guys,
